Pertanika Journal of Counsellor Educator and Counselling Psychology is a bilingual, peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with UPM Press. The journal covers a wide range of academic disciplines with a primary focus on various aspects of counselling, including counsellor education and training encompassing theory, pedagogy, and professional development strategies; evidence-based counselling practices in diverse contexts such as schools, communities, organisations, and clinical settings; as well as counselling psychology and individual mental well-being through therapeutic interventions.
In addition, the journal emphasises culturally sensitive counselling practices that take into account spirituality and local values; the development of intervention modules grounded in psychological theory; the integration of technology in counselling training and practice; and support for special populations such as children, adolescents, the elderly, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and marginalised communities. The scope also includes studies related to policy and psychosocial support systems; career counselling, emotional education, and strength-based personal development; as well as innovations in assessment, ethics, and counselling supervision.
